{"id":428,"date":"2023-05-24T16:02:45","date_gmt":"2023-05-24T23:02:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kingchem.org\/?page_id=428"},"modified":"2023-05-24T16:12:00","modified_gmt":"2023-05-24T23:12:00","slug":"program-a-temperature-ramp-on-the-csc32-temperature-controller","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/kingchem.org\/?page_id=428","title":{"rendered":"Program a temperature ramp on the CSC32 temperature controller"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The CSC32 controller uses an <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/kingchem.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/M2897.pdf\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/kingchem.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/M2897.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Omega CN9500 PID<\/a> unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Operations for Temperature Sensor<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n  Words in bold correspond to either buttons on the instrument or its display output\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ramping Procedure<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Press and hold the <strong>STAR (*) <\/strong>symbol, while holding, use the <strong>UP<\/strong> or <strong>DOWN <\/strong>to set the starting temperature for the ramp.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Press and hold the <strong>UP<\/strong> and <strong>DOWN<\/strong> arrows for 3 seconds until <strong>tunE <\/strong>appears. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To set the ramping speed, navigate using the <strong>UP<\/strong> or <strong>DOWN<\/strong> arrows to <strong>SPrr, <\/strong>press and hold <strong>STAR<\/strong>. Using the <strong>UP <\/strong>or <strong>DOWN<\/strong> arrows adjust as needed. For reaching your starting temperature it is recommended to use a moderately high value, release <strong>STAR<\/strong>.   <br><strong>Range: 0-9995 \u00b0C per hour<\/strong> <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To set how long to hold at the target temperature, navigate to <strong>SoAK <\/strong>using the <strong>UP <\/strong>or <strong>DOWN<\/strong> arrow. Press and hold <strong>STAR, <\/strong>adjust time as needed using the arrows. Note that a time of 0 minutes corresponds to an indefinite hold at that temperature. Release <strong>STAR<\/strong>.   <br><strong>Range: 0-1440 minutes.<\/strong> <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To toggle ramp mode, navigate to <strong>SPrn<\/strong> using the arrows. Press and hold <strong>STAR<\/strong>, use the arrows to switch between <strong>On <\/strong>and <strong>Off<\/strong> as needed.<sup><a id=\"post-428-footnote-ref-1\" href=\"#post-428-footnote-1\">[1]<\/a><\/sup> <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> Exit the program mode by pressing and holding <strong>UP <\/strong>and <strong>DOWN <\/strong>for 3 seconds.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> Allow temperature to ramp to starting temperature.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> Using the above instructions, first change the ramping temperature to the desired rate (It is important to do this before changing the target temperature so that the sample does not begin cooling). Adjust <strong>SoAK<\/strong> time if needed. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> Change the target temperature to your desired temperature and allow to run.  <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>(Note that power cycling the sensor will resume the ramp if it is set to <strong>On<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/kingchem.org\/wp-admin\/post.php?post=428&amp;action=edit#post-428-footnote-ref-1\">\u2191<\/a>)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The CSC32 controller uses an Omega CN9500 PID unit.
