The CSC32 controller uses an Omega CN9500 PID unit.

Operations for Temperature Sensor

Words in bold correspond to either buttons on the instrument or its display output

Ramping Procedure

  1. Press and hold the STAR (*) symbol, while holding, use the UP or DOWN to set the starting temperature for the ramp.
  2. Press and hold the UP and DOWN arrows for 3 seconds until tunE appears.
  3. To set the ramping speed, navigate using the UP or DOWN arrows to SPrr, press and hold STAR. Using the UP or DOWN arrows adjust as needed. For reaching your starting temperature it is recommended to use a moderately high value, release STAR.
    Range: 0-9995 °C per hour
  4. To set how long to hold at the target temperature, navigate to SoAK using the UP or DOWN arrow. Press and hold STAR, adjust time as needed using the arrows. Note that a time of 0 minutes corresponds to an indefinite hold at that temperature. Release STAR.
    Range: 0-1440 minutes.
  5. To toggle ramp mode, navigate to SPrn using the arrows. Press and hold STAR, use the arrows to switch between On and Off as needed.[1]
  6. Exit the program mode by pressing and holding UP and DOWN for 3 seconds.
  7. Allow temperature to ramp to starting temperature.
  8. Using the above instructions, first change the ramping temperature to the desired rate (It is important to do this before changing the target temperature so that the sample does not begin cooling). Adjust SoAK time if needed.
  9. Change the target temperature to your desired temperature and allow to run.

(Note that power cycling the sensor will resume the ramp if it is set to On )
